- Age limits – Participants must adhere strictly to the age limits set by the organizers. The organizer reserves the right to verify the age of participants before, during, and after the race.
- Acceptance of Entries:
- Only one entry per person is allowed. Multiple applications will be rejected.
- Applicants must provide true, accurate, current, and complete information as requested in the application form. Applications will not be accepted if false information is knowingly submitted.
- By submitting a registration application, participants agree and accept the “Terms and Conditions” and “Acknowledgement of Risks & Indemnity Agreement” of the Tawang Marathon. If a participant is below 18 years of age, the guardian must confirm their relationship with the participant and agree to the “Terms & Conditions” and “Acknowledgement of Risks & Indemnity.”
- Participants of the 10 KM Run, Half Marathon and Marathon must provide details of previous marathons along with finisher certificates as per the Eligibility Criteria at the time of registration.
- All participants must be fully vaccinated for Covid-19 to participate.
- Application fee – As Applicable.
- Entries not accepted: Participation in the event is subject to entry confirmation. Entries will not be accepted if:
- Finisher certificates submitted as proof of eligibility criteria are found to be incorrect.
- Incorrect documentation or information is submitted for the entry.
- In such cases, the entry/registration shall be deemed canceled, and the registration fee paid will be non-refundable.
- The last date to register for Tawang Marathon is Sunday, 13th October 2024.
- Arrival in Tawang and Acclimatization – Participants acknowledge and agree that they need to arrive in Tawang as per the guidelines recommended by Tawang Marathon. Acclimatization is imperative and important for all participants.
- The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferable for all races of Tawang Marathon. No refunds will be issued except for serving Indian Defense Personnel.
- Change of race category is permitted ONLY up to September 30, 2024, by providing written intimation to the organizers. A processing fee of Rs 1,000 (Indian Nationals) will be charged. Please ensure timely written intimation for any change of race category.
- Transfer of registration to the next year is permitted ONLY up to September 30, 2024, by providing written intimation to the organizers. No transfer requests will be entertained after September 30, 2024. Please ensure timely written intimation for the transfer of registration.
- BIB number and collection:
- Each Participant has to sign an indemnity bond during BIB Collection
- Participants must collect their running BIB in person. Please plan your travel accordingly.
- BIBs are non-transferable to any other participant/person.
- Official race BIB numbers must be displayed and worn throughout the race.
- BIB numbers must not be altered or worn by another participant.
- Improperly wearing or covering any part of the BIB may result in disqualification.
- The BIB should not be forcefully bent, creased, or folded.
- Participants must fill out the necessary information on the back side of the BIB.
- BIB Collection dates: 19th, 20th and 21st October 2024
- Timing Chips:
- Timing chips will be used for the timed races (10 KM Run, Half Marathon and Marathon).
- Timing chips must be attached to the BIB as per instructions provided.
- The chip must be worn on the race day, attached properly to the BIB.
- The chip must be attached from start to finish to receive an official finish time.
- Timing chips are specific to each participant and should not be worn by others.
- Code of Conduct:
- Participants must follow the instructions and directions of the organizers, race officials, course marshals, and volunteers at all times.
- Participants must conduct themselves in a sportsmanlike manner and respect race officials, fellow runners, and the local people.
- The organizer reserves the right to disqualify participants who refuse to follow instructions.
- Official Time and Net Time: Participants who complete the races within the specified cut-off time will be provided with an official time and net time. Net time will be considered as the official time.
- Participants must ensure they are medically and physically fit to participate in the event. Individuals suffering from chronic diseases such as heart disease or high blood pressure should not participate. The organizer reserves the right to disallow/disqualify physically unfit participants.
- COVID-19: Participants acknowledge the contagious nature of COVID-19 and assume the risk of exposure or infection by participating in the event.
- Race day images: Race day images of participants will be screened visually after the race. Wearing another participant’s BIB will result in disqualification and prohibition from future participation. Participants grant the Tawang Marathon and its promoters and organizers the exclusive right to use their name, race day images, and videos for event promotion across all social media platforms.
- Event cancellation: In case the event is canceled due to circumstances beyond the control of the organizers or force majeure, all confirmed registrations will automatically be carried forward to the next year in the same race category. There is no fee refund in case of event cancellation, except for serving Indian Defense Personnel.
- Changes to the Event:
- The Event organizer reserves the right to modify the course, make amendments, or update race day procedures deemed necessary to stage the Event. Participants will be informed of any changes.
- If the course distance is reduced, the Event is still deemed to be staged, and no refund will be provided.
- The application form and the right to participate in the event, along with the associated rights and benefits, are at the sole discretion of the event organizers and promoters. They cannot be transferred to any other participant/person under any circumstances. The confirmed participant alone is entitled to the rights and benefits arising from participation.
Tawang Marathon – Prize Money Terms & Conditions
- The race results announced on the race day will be considered ‘provisional’. Final results will be disclosed post-verification, and individuals meeting the specified criteria will qualify for the prize money.
- The disbursement of cash prizes will adhere to the following criteria:
- To be designated as a Cash Prize Winner, participants must complete the race within the respective cut-off time indicated for each category:

21.097 KM (Half Marathon) in 3.30 hours from the Half Marathon Race Flag off
10 KM 2.00 hours from the 10 KM Race Flag off
5 KM 1.00 hour from the 5 KM Race Flag off
- The allocation of finish positions for age categories (age as of 24.10.2024), qualifying for prize money, will be determined solely based on net finish times.
- Runners seeking eligibility for prizes must not commence the race later than 15 minutes after the official flag-off time and must cross the starting mat within the first 15 minutes from the flag-off.
- Furthermore, entitlement to finish positions and Prize Money winnings is contingent upon:
- Accurate bib tag timing recorded at all timing checkpoints along the course, including the start and finish mats.
- Physical verification conducted by technical officials and anti-cheat cameras.
- Runners discovered to have exchanged their bib numbers and/or bib tags with others will face disqualification from the competition. Such runners will not be entitled to any timing or prize money rewards, if applicable.
- Prize winners declared may be obligated to provide additional proof of identity/age as requested. Failure to comply could result in the Event Promoter retaining the disbursement or disqualifying the participant from the competition, at its discretion.
- Protests and Appeals:
- Any confirmed participant can submit a protest regarding the official race results for overall and/or age category finish positions, declared post-race. Such protests must be emailed to [email protected] by 11:59 p.m. on November 4th, 2024. Emails received after this deadline will not be considered.
- The contents of the email and related results will be reviewed, and a decision on the protest will be communicated within 10 working days from receiving the email. The event promoter may choose to request documents from the complainant and/or the runner involved to aid in making a decision.
- Organizing team decisions will be definitive and binding on all parties.
- Timing results: If a runner needs to update timing results related to their gender and/or age, they must communicate the required changes to [email protected] no later than November 04th, 2024. Requests received after this date will not be entertained.
